working principle
There are online filtering devices on various instruments in the market, mainly for intercepting solid particles, but they cannot intercept organic pollutants that cause ghost peaks. After careful research and development, Yuexu Technology has developed a packing material that strongly adsorbs weakly polar and non-polar organic impurities without changing the composition of the mobile phase (without ion pair reagents). It performs secondary purification on the instrument and mobile phase, effectively eliminating such pollutants, reducing the probability of ghost peaks, and extending the life of chromatography columns and instruments.

Installation and use
1. When using, install the impurity capture column between the gradient mixer and the injector. Please ensure that the column is installed before the injector. If installed after the injector, it will have a strong adsorption effect on the sample.
2. Please rinse the Ghost Buster Column impurity trap column with 80% methanol water at a flow rate of 1ml/min for 20 minutes before connecting the equipment for use.
4. Not all impurities can be adsorbed by Ghost Buster Column.
5. If ion pair reagents are used in the mobile phase, they may adsorb and affect the retention time or peak shape of the target substance. For such mobile phase conditions, please determine whether to use this small column based on the chromatographic effect.
6. The lifespan is related to chromatographic analysis conditions, mobile phase brand, and purity. If the trapping effect deteriorates, it is recommended to replace it in a timely manner, rather than connecting it for unlimited use.
7. As a purification component of the instrument, Ghost Buster Column is equivalent to an online filter on the instrument. However, the online filter can only filter solid particles, and it not only filters solid particles, but also purifies organic pollutants in the system, providing better protection for the instrument and chromatographic column.
8. Before and after using buffer salt mobile phase, pay attention to using a high proportion of water for transitional flushing to avoid the precipitation of buffer salt, which may cause blockage of the packing material.

1. Do we need to remove the mobile phase when detecting different varieties with different gradients?
Answer: There is no need to deliberately remove it, unless there is a change in peak position or other situations that do not meet experimental requirements (such as the presence of ion pairs in the mobile phase).
2. Do I need to remove the gradient condition to replace it with an equal degree condition?
Answer: If it does not affect the separation effect, it is not necessary to remove it because the elution ability of the mobile phase is the same under isothermal conditions, so ghost peaks are generally not detected. However, this does not mean that there are no pollutants in the mobile phase.
3. What should be done if the addition of mixed hysteresis volume affects the separation efficiency in gradient systems?
Answer: Generally, Ghost Buster Column is connected between the mixer and the injector. The volume of 4.6 * 50mm specification is 400ul, which has little impact on conventional detection. If there is any impact, please connect it to the mixer or switch the water phase channel before the valve.
4. Are there any requirements for connecting pipelines?
